For thousands of years the bluebird has been symbolized as a harbinger of happiness and hope in many cultures. I’ve been seeing a lot of bluebirds around my home this Spring.

This snowy owl is a beach bum. It likes to hunt at Pere Marquette beach in Muskegon, Michigan and it made an appearance while I was there this weekend.
The sky over Lake Michigan was magnificent yesterday during our weekly ride around Pere Marquette ovals in Muskegon.
The two fawn (and their mama) visited again. I spotted them out back late this morning.
I call our resident male cardinal(s) Kookaburra, not because of their “laugh” (thank heavens.. have you ever heard a real Kookaburra?) but because he truly is the king of his territory.
